Brian Abbot's company Parrabbola
(with Philip Parr as Artistic Director)
have
been awarded a Heritage Lottery
Fund grant to write and produce a full
scale community play/musical for
Rickmansworth, called Land of Liberty and
for production in March/April
2011. It is about the rise of the Chartist Movement
and a twenty
minute taster minute version has already been performed at Watersmeet Theatre,
Rickmansworth, and as part of the St Albans Festival.
As
part of the project I'll also be giving a series
of
seminars on creative play/writing involving History.
Parrabbola have also be awarded an EU grant
for the second year running,
to
take a (multi-lingual, multi-site) production
to the Gdansk International Shakespeare Festival. Brian will be
dramaturg-ing Pericles Prince of Tyre
this
year.
