As a tribute to Brian, we have left this web page as he designed it, shortly before his tragic death in November 2003.

Born in Glasgow, Brian is the third generation of a theatrical family – his grandparents music hall entertainers and his parents TV script writers. Moving with them to England aged 5 he grew up in North London and then Sydney, Australia. He has also lived for a time in Los Angeles, USA and is now resident in North London.

Familiar with most English and Scottish dialects, American and Australian dialogue.

Brian is the third generation of a theatrical family – his grandparents music hall entertainers, his father a writer for stage and TV and his mother a singer. His first career was as a musician and songwriter. After nearly twenty years of touring and recording he contracted arthritis and was forced to give up playing professionally.

Writing had always been a pastime for Brian. Thinking this might be a suitable second career he signed up as a mature student to study for a degree course in Literature and Drama. It was there that he wrote Blah, Blah, Blah, a play with songs. On an MA drama exchange programme to the University of Northern Illinois, USA Blah played at Theater Corner in Chicago. It then went on to win an award in the National Drama Awards Festival and was published by Samuel French in 1998.

Since then he has had several stage plays produced and written for television and short film. He is currently working for Carlton TV's daytime drama Crossroads.

 

A member of awl for some seven years, he wrote, directed and acted in many readings, most recently:
