THE LATE GERRY BALL
Director/Writer

Gerry Ball had worked in a variety of occupations including theatre.   Originally trained as an engineer, he decided to join the theatre, following National Service, in stage management.  In 1960, he directed his first rep season on the Isle of Wight, which was followed by seasons in Torquay, Bournemouth and Bradford, throughout the decade.

The majority of the last 20 years, Gerry had been working as a dramatherapist
and directing youth theatre, involving the occasional fringe production.  He devised and directed a pageant covering 250 years of a Wimbledon School utilising all 450 pupils.  He had written a novel interlocking the world of theatre and therapy.
