After completing a 2.1 BSc in Human Geography with the Open
University
in December 2005, Michael Doust began
creative writing in 2006, when
he realised graduating meant there wouldn't be a new OU course
for
him to start that February
Michael gets most of his creative inspiration from his day (and night) job as a London Bus Driver, a temporary position he has held since 1994

Since 2001 Michael has been a regular contributor to the arts review website Spank The Monkey, most notably during the annual London Film Festival under his alter egos The Suzanne Vega (or Sheryl Crow, or Maria Sharapova, or Stuart Pearce) Fanclub.
