The Killing of Justine

by

Michael Mullen

To be read by awl on Monday 2nd June 2008

In December 1972, androgynous cult-figure Justine was shot dead at the climax of his
rock-theatre show The Baroness’s Tale. Although a police investigation produced results, to this day many questions remain unanswered. A modern-day
tribute band replay the crime scene in an attempt to answer these
questions and reveal a story the public was never told.

Justine (early 20s)
Lead singer with the band The Fallin’ Angels, male, very slim. Gender/sexuality freedom-fighter. Outspoken but wary.
Talks with a very slight French accent.
Peter Pawan
Shem (mid 20s)
Lead guitarist with the band The Fallin’ Angels. Dubliner, burly build. Earnest but emotionally out of his depth with Justine
Robert Blackwood
Les Freeman (mid-late 30s)
MD of Freeman Enterprises, large build, wears eye-patch over glasses, faded Teddy Boy style clothing, Midlands accent. Eager to realise his business dream whatever the human cost.
Phil Gerrard
Steve Logan (early 30s)
1960s guitar hero, muscular build, longish hair. Hell’s Angel type clothes. Quasi-hippy style delivery. Visionary but also has an agenda.
Andrew Heart
Sharon (mid 20s)
Fiancée of Shem, Dubliner, blonde/redhead. Ambitious but eager to hold on to her relationship with Shem.
Catherine Potter
Directed by Jez Bond
