Amy hits the menopause, grieving, at 52. The future yawns: once her son has left home, what will her marriage, her life, be like? Her mother's getting frail, her husband is weird. Doesn't she need a(nother) fresh start?

Her business partner Fiona, meanwhile, is in the last chance saloon, desperate to conceive a first baby at 45 - with a husband she doesn't much like.

Then everything's blown sky-high and as the dust settles and lives reshape, everyone seems so...well...selfish.
